Your Words in Action.
Your Giving at Work.
In May 2025, The Fund for Queer Causes made its first unrestricted grant to 360 Health X, a trans- and queer-led nonprofit in DC expanding access to gender-affirming care and community. Click the first video to see how and why this inaugural grant came to be.
Since then, whether through tabling at Pride events, social media, or e-mail, the majority of our grants have been guided by members of the local LGBTQ+ community and allies answering the question: “What does the queer community need right now?”
That collective feedback shaped our second grant, which went to Safe Space NOVA, supporting affirming programs for LGBTQ+ youth across the region. You can hear more from their team in the second video.
From there, we have awarded community-guided grants to Trans Maryland, a trans-led community power-building organization; Mary’s House for Older Adults, an affirming, affordable, and communal home for LGBTQ+ elders; and Q+ Collective, a team of queer consultants helping queer leaders and organizations. We have also supported Pride Proms in Maryland and Virginia, DC Black Pride, Trans Pride, and the DC LGBTQ+ Community Center. Most recently, grants have gone to Equality Loudoun, FreeState Justice, Rainbow Families, He She Ze and We, and Team DC, supporting legal help, affirming resources, third spaces, community connection, and queer joy across the DMV.
These grants are a reflection of the people-powered heart of this fund. Keep telling us what matters. We’re listening. And with your continued support, we’ll keep turning that listening into action.
